GREEN FUTURES SUMMER SCHOOL

Our Year One students visited Rooftop Farms in Greenpoint to see organic farming at its best. Students walked over the Williamsburgh Bridge to get to the farm. Check out the GROWING CHEFS link on the right!

YEAR 1 IDENTITY BOXES

Ben Rojas helped our Year One students create identity boxes for their stopmotion movies. These boxes represent their exterior selves, their spirit animals, and their id monsters! They are Matryoshka dolls that fit inside one another. The project helps students learn how to draw the front, back, and sides of objects.

THIRD GRADER COMMUNITY PROJECT

Julie's Year Two class made plush toys for stories their third grade buddies wrote. Too cool!

PERSPECTIVE FURNITURE

Dave and Brian asked their students to let an assigned piece of material change their PERSPECTIVE about how furniture is made. Check out the results!

New Design Daily News Prom Pictorial

After a very successful New Design High School prom last week at Tavern on the Green an exciting pictorial spread was published today, June 11, 2009 in the Daily News. Not only did all of our youth have a safe and amazing experience - they made NYC history being the first class to have prom published in the news paper! We will surely miss the Class of 2009!
