Capoeira Fundraiser! May 31st & June 1st

This weekend we have an awesome capoeira fundraiser - Saturday, May 31st and Sunday, June 1st!
We have an amazing guest from Texas by way of Brazil, Mestre Cafuringa who will be teaching the two day intensive workshops for adult and student practioners, thanks to the awesome organization by Professor Lampreia! The two day workshops are $50 and one day of training is $30. We hope you will think of attending and getting that summer physique into shape! KRUSH GROOVE EVENT!

Where music, art, dance and film come together to create an outdoor entertainment community festival on a square city block museum rooftop.

Due to city/state wide budget cuts announced early February, New Design High School is being forced to discontinue numerous Arts Integration Programs, which include after school and summer initiatives. Programs that enable us to keep our youth off the streets and more importantly in a creative learning environment.

New Design High School (NDHS)
New Design is a small academic public high school with a design focus located in the historical Seward Park Campus in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The school infuses the concept of design to assist in meeeting the holistic needs of adolscents, including academic, intellectual, social, emotional, and artistic development of young people.

The Event will have 5 sections
Main stage, Secondary stage, an outdoor seated movie theater, vendor show case, and live painting.

June 7th 1pm- 11pm

CENTER FOR ARCHITECTURE woodshop build

Students spent two weeks building our new woodshop from scratch. Eric Ratkowski from the CFA led the year 3 and year 4 crews in construction.
