SOUND DESIGN at NEW DESIGN
The 9th Grade have been working on Sound Design producing original songs in their Music Production course. The class is part of the Urban Arts Partnership program at the school and taught by teaching artist, Jules Gimbrone. Meeting once a week over the course of the semester, students gained the skills to produce, edit, and mix their own songs using the program Garageband. Simultaneously, students investigated themes of identity, and wrote poetry that explores the effects of stereotypes. Students then recorded and mixed their poems into their instrumental tracks. Check out their work out here.
